According to a new study, Spain is the healthiest country in the world.
The Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index gives Spain a score of 92.7 on a scale of 100. It is the best of all 167 countries included in the study and this means that Spain has risen from seventh place in the previous study to first place.
The study assesses a number of circumstances, such as eating habits, health care, life expectancy, environment, obesity, smoking and more. Spain is expected to have the highest life expectancy in the world within a few years, at nearly 86 years. One cause of this is the Mediterranean diet and especially the use of olive oil and nuts in the diet.
